Pencil Drawings

The first type of art I really enjoyed was Pencil drawing. I found it the easiest to learn and progress in, I pick up a pencil and can be inspired quickly. I love that I can make mistakes and correct them if I need to. I’m proud of how far I’ve come.

Elephant sketch

With this drawing I was learning about adding shade and depth, especially around the elephants ears,

Detailed cheetah eye

I've always enjoyed drawing eyes and their detail. I'd done lots in pro create but wanted to try and create one just with pencil.

Self-portrait

This was my first ever self-portrait. I decide to just use pencil only as I wanted to focus on the depth of the drawing and not have to worry about colour.

Sabrina

Sabrina is my favourite singer, and I wanted to use her as my first colour portrait. This was my first attempt using coloured pencils.

Eye Doodles

I decided to sketch some different colour eyes from singers I like.

Elsa

I did this for my sister, Thea, when she wasn’t feeling very well to cheer her up. Cartoon drawing is so much fun, the hair worked well and looks like its caught in the wind.

Still life reference photo

Still life

I watched a cool video on YouTube about setting up objects for still life and it really helped me figure out how to pull it together. This is the reference photo of how I set it up. This was my attempt of drawing that set up, I added a flower to add more depth and interest.

Hydrangea

One of my favourite flowers is the hydrangea, we have an amazing one in our garden. At the beginning I was just going to draw one, but the outside of the drawing was a bit plain, so I experimented with a closed flower and a half blooming one.

Titanic

In year 5 we did titanic as a topic. We did drawing in class, but when I got home I decided to try again adding more details.

House in the forest

I was playing around with an app called ‘simply draw’, which teaches how to add shading and depth to landscapes, this was cabin in the woods.
